Federico Fellini Minute

Federico Fellini, born in Rimini in 1920, became one of the most imaginative and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema. Beginning as a cartoonist and screenwriter, he emerged from Italy’s postwar neorealist tradition before creating a cinematic language entirely his own.

Films including La Strada, La Dolce Vita, 8½, and Amarcord joined memory, fantasy, humor, spectacle, and deeply human emotion. His unmistakable visual style became so influential that the word “Felliniesque” entered international culture.

Fellini received four Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and an honorary Academy Award recognizing his enduring contribution to world cinema. He died in 1993, leaving a body of work that continues to inspire filmmakers, artists, and audiences everywhere.
